What is the Minisail?

If you have got this far, you are likely to be either a Minisail owner, or someone with a passing knowledge of boats. But just in case...

The Minisail is a flat bottomed, round bowed dinght designed in 1959 by Ian Proctor, one of the most successful dinghy designers of all time. More on him in the future, I'm sure!

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here goes:

That is Peter Matthews, sailing his recently purchased Minisail, a very early GRP version, a Monaco MK1. There is more on the differnt designs of Minisail on the Minisail website, www.minisail.org.

And this is me sailing a wooden Sprite design, with a lovely new sail from R&J sails. More on that another time, too!
